The last o-event of this season?

... well not quite ... but the second last was run last weekend on the grounds of the sport university of salzburg. To be precise we ran the Salzburg Sprint championships. This event is normally run in 2 races: a first race and a second race which is started only 1 hour later and runners start in chasing start. This sort of sprint race is held since a couple of years now and it is great fun. Additionally there are only 4 categories: men and women up to 16 years and over 16 years. Therefore there are many starters in the "senior" category and also gives the old and young orienteerers an oportunity to compare with the elite. And often the elite runners have to make sure not to be behind the youngsters ....
Results and maps can be seen on the website of the Salzburg Orienteering federation (sorry only in German) - note also the Route Gadged.

However definitely the last o-event of the year for us will be the traditional street o-event in Venice / Italy on the 12th of November. We are hoping for great weather and are sure that we will enjoy the usual delicous italian food and coffee ... However it will be quite a challange to carry Hanna and her pram over all the bridges.
